Here at Payson Fruit Growers we offer a variety of cherries. All our cherries are Montmorency (tart) cherries. Montmorency cherries are the most popular sour or tart cherries in America. Almost everyone has eaten them at one time or another, as they are the fruit of the famous cherry pie. These cherries are grown in Utah where the dry hot days and cool summer nights help the cherries to fill with delicious natural sugar.

Sweetened Dried Tart Cherries

Once the cherries arrive from the orchard, we carefully clean pit and inspect the cherries before preparing the fruit to be dried. The drying process is one which helps preserve the natural color and flavor of the cherries while removing just the right amount of moisture so the fruit will taste tart yet sweet and dried but still moist. In order to reduce the tart flavor we add a little sugar to these cherries. Unlike some cherries sold, we never sweeten the cherries with high fructose corn syrup, which can over sweeten the cherries.

These dried cherries can be purchased whole, sliced, or diced. Sizes vary from 2lb up to 40lbs and everything in between.

Unsweetened Dried Tart Cherries

Care is given to ensure that they are not over dried, which results in hard fruit. Preferred by people watching their calorie intake, these are a great option to enjoy healthier foods that still taste great. These are delicious in salads, in cereal, or even plain. Take a step to a healthier you and buy unsweetened dried cherries today!

Chocolate Covered Dried Cherries

Many people every year enjoy the taste of chocolate. We combined one of America's favorite treats with cherries to produce a snack that is almost irresistible. Our customers tell us they enjoy adding these to cookies instead of chocolate chips. Sneak these into your children's lunch as a dessert that is loved by them, and you can feel good about giving them.

Yogurt Covered Dried Cherries

Similar to our chocolate cherries we take sweetened dried tart cherries and add a layer of yogurt to them for a variation of flavor. Giving the sweet taste of yogurt to a tart cherry makes these a sweet and sour snack that is great for any occasion. Perfect for road trips when candy is the norm, these will help make road trips a healthier and funnier time. Beware of letting them sit in direct sunlight as the yogurt coating can melt.

Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate

Within the last few years cherry juice has grown to be one of Americas' favorite flavors. Popularity of the drink as an after workout refreshment has increased among the health conscious, and many people claim that it helps with various alignments. Tart cherry juice has not been evaluated by the FDA as a cure for any medical conditions, and we do not claim it can treat or cure any diseases, however, if you want to enjoy cherries all the time this is the way to go.

With the equivalent of approximately 70 cherries per tablespoon this is a power packed way to receive the antioxidants and nutrients cherries contain. Great plain, with ice cream, as a punch or even in a smoothie, having tart cherry juice concentrate on hand is never a mistake.
